I have 10-20 SECAM vhs tapes I’d like to digitise. Do I have to drop them off in person once I’ve paid online or can I ship them to you? Thanks!

Media SOS 05/10/2026 11:08:15

You can either place your order online or bring your tapes to us in person. If you choose to order online, you will simply post the tapes to our studio.

However, if you live nearby, we highly recommend dropping them off in person, as these original tapes are precious and irreplaceable.

I have two MiniDV tapes that were recorded in Long Play (LP) mode. Unfortunately, they do not play correctly on two different camcorders, and the picture is heavily pixelated.

I was advised to contact you to see if the footage can be recovered.

Could you please let me know:

Whether you are able to recover LP MiniDV tapes with this type of playback problem.

The estimated cost.

Whether there is any charge if the recovery is unsuccessful.

Approximately how long the recovery process takes.

Thank you very much, and I look forward to your reply.

Kind regards,

Mohammadrezنa

As your tapes require recovery, we will need to diagnose them first in order to provide you with an accurate quote.

If we test the tapes and find that no footage can be recovered at all, there is absolutely no charge for the service (you would only need to cover the return postage costs if you would like the physical tapes back).

The standard process typically takes approximately 7 to 10 working days once we receive the tapes. However, as your tapes require special care, it may take a little longer. We will let you know the exact time frame after we have diagnosed them.

We have a sizeable collection of video tapes in various formats that we are looking to have digitised.
Could you please let us know whether you offer business rates for bulk work of this nature?

Media SOS 11/10/2025 11:09:56

We specialise in large-scale video and audio transfers for corporate clients and would be delighted to support you with this work.

To prepare an accurate proposal and business rate, it would be helpful to have a breakdown of approximate quantities per format (VHS, DVCAM, MiniDV, cassettes, DVDs, etc.). Once we have this, we can provide a tailored quote and options for delivery formats, such as external hard drives, secure cloud storage, or both.
